Most of these photos are from Flickr, all are available for post from the artists. I kept the original titles, hence some non-English titles. Some artists are unknown, having come from stock photographs off CD's.
If you click a photo or original poster's name, it will take you to the Flickr source. Those not from Flickr are either mine or from the government, which posts public photos online since they were paid for with tax money and belong to the people. ..and you thought your tax dollars were wasted!
ps - I will redo some of these in larger sizes if possible
The Creation is amazing, but remember that we've also created cameras as a means of preserving the passing of light through the creation or we would never see most of this.
[our banner photo is the Orion Nebula photographed by the hubbell telescope. the blue clouds are zinc gas, orange is copper and they are big enough to encompass numerous stars. does that make us feel small enough?]
This blog will cover the Cosmos, I almost went with 'microcosmic gods', which is a terrific SciFi story in the hall of fame collection, i believe by either james blish or theodore sturgeon, whose name was parodied by kurt vonnegut, jr. as kilgore trout
.. the Jman..
